I Went to Bandon Dunes and Walked 157 Holes Over 4 Days in One Pair of SUBTXT Shoes to Test Our Product

You don't go to a place like Bandon Dunes to ride in a cart. You go to experience what a lot of people travel to Ireland and Scotland to experience: beautiful bluffs and dunes, a magnificent forest surrounding Bandon Trails, a spectacle of a property some would call golf's Disneyland.

If you don't have a good pair of shoes, your feet will never make four days of golf. I decided the real test of whether we had a viable product was to bring no other shoe and play every round, every day, in one of my early MACAW Golf samples. We played 157 holes over four days.

That's almost nine rounds of walking golf on one pair of shoes, back to back, on dunes terrain. Sand, wet grass, gorse, gravel paths, and more mileage in four days than most golf shoes see in a season.

Here's the honest report. The leather was fine — naturally water resistant, grippy, and undeniably comfortable. The tread held up and didn't clog. The midsole kept its cushion the whole way, and my feet were fine on the last eighteen when everything else hurt.

My brother took a pair out too and walked 36 holes in them in a single day — the first time he'd ever gone 36 without changing shoes. In his words: "First time I ever had the confidence to use a pair of shoes for 36 holes in a single day. Never looked back." This was a sign we were really onto something.

By the last round I had my answer. 157 holes of walking with no foot pain, no blisters — overwhelming comfort. I've torn ligaments in my knee and fractured my fibula, so finishing four days with no pain in my knees or body says a lot about the quality of the recycled foam components. And nothing failed — no delamination, no dead foam, no seams giving up.
